Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her support and commitment to bettering South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) providers through an engagement with all the agency's senior supervisors at a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the numerous social grant beneficiaries, who excelled within the 2024 matric examinations.
From the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing eighty one% in the registered pupils in the schooling sector.
These learners reached a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the financial commitment government is earning within the life of weak and susceptible youngsters is yielding a positive effect in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe reported.
